Time-Lapse Tool

Time lapse sequences are essentially videos with low frame rates. Certain cameras come with time lapse recording capabilities, but it is possible to create such sequences with any DSLR camera, by taking snapshots continuously. Time-Lapse Tool can be used to assemble the photos into a single time lapse video. The software places many other tools at your disposal, for applying and adjusting various visual effects.

Time-Lapse Tool can be installed in no time, on Windows XP, Win 7 and Win 8. It comes in free and paid editions, which have to be activated with a serial number, which you will receive via email, when you purchase the product or request an activation for the free version. The software asks for .NET Framework 4.0 or later and it works with any mid-range hardware, due to its modest requirements.

In terms of appearance, Time-Lapse Tool looks and feels like a lightweight videos editor. Although the user interface is not as rich as those of other editors, you can still find enough features to give your time lapse videos a professional look. You can either click and drag your pictures to import them or you can browse for the files on the software's interface. The interesting part is that Time-Lapse Tool can detect which images are part of the same sequence, even if they are mixed with hundreds of other photos in the same folder. If you browse for the files on the interface, the program will display the sequential images separately, in a film strip.

Once you import a sequence of images, you can hit a Play button to preview the time lapse videos. The frame rate can be increased or decreased with a slider, next to the video's timeline. Additionally, you can make a wide range of visual adjustments, in a series of menus, on the right side of the interface. The software allows you to apply and adjust a black and white effect, set up brightness and camera transitions, pixelate the images, rotate them, add a directional blur effect and much more.

Time lapse videos can be exported to various formats, at different resolutions. Alternatively, you can upload your videos directly to YouTube, without saving anything on the hard drive. All you have to do is type in your login credentials, select a resolution, type a title and a short description and click a button.
